Business as usual for the average professional involves activity, and lots of it. We thrive on being busy because we are under the impression that the more we accomplish, the more successful we will be.
On the other hand, business as usual for the highly successful professionals involves thinking and getting better at thinking. They have discovered that it’s the quality of their thoughts that directly influence their success. They are willing to be asked questions that drive them to improve their thinking. They realize the secret to their success is greater awareness because they cannot improve on something they’re not aware of.
When you increase your self-awareness, you become the person fully capable of achieving your dreams and your aspirations. The quality of your thinking depends on the depth of questions, you either ask yourself or allow someone else to ask you. But since very few of us have the training and the discipline to ask ourselves those inquisitive searching questions it takes an experienced coach to fill that role.
There is a level of intelligence deep within your subconscious that is much greater than your intellect. It knows the answers. You just need someone to help you to become consciously aware of it. Those probing coaching questions take you deep within, to increase your self-awareness, leading you to the greater success you desire. So, you see, it’s awareness, not knowledge that will take you from where you are today to where you desire to be.
Now all of those other disciplines I listed earlier are important. They can increase your knowledge and help you move forward in business. But they cannot tap into your greatness, that is the role of the coach. So, what is a coach?
A coach is that one unique individual who does not help you learn more, they help you become more. Coaching is an inductive process, from the inside out. Your greatness, your unlimited potential is inside of you. It’s your coach who brings the process that takes you deep inside, to find and unleash your greater self.
